Project Details
NCC Environmental Services (Pty) (Ltd) (“NCC”) have been appointed by Mossel Bay Municipality (“the Applicant”) to undertake a Part 2 Amendment process for the extension of the validity of an environmental authorisation (“EA”) for the proposed Sonskynvalley Extension Phase 3 on Portions 4, 59 and 105 of the Farm Hartenbosch 217, Mossel bay
PROJECT ACTIVITIES
Properties are being developed depending on the Municipality’s available funds and housing need as per the Municipality’s favoured housing priorities.
The housing development is Phase 3 of the Sonksyn Valley town area where provision is made for the following:
- 686 Residential Zone (mainly subsidy) plots
- 2 Transport Zone II plots
- 14 Public Open Space plots
- 2 Church plots
- 1 Crèche (childcare) plot
- 1 Business plot
- 1 Government plot
Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Sonskyn Valley is developed and occupied. Phase 3 was planned by the Municipality to complete the development; all 686 plots will be constructed over time and were planned to be immediately developed/occupied).
A bulk water pipeline (200mm diameter) forms part of the development from the existing Hartensboskop reservoir to the site to service the housing opportunities
A Notice of Intent to Develop (“NID”) application will be submitted to the Heritage Western Cape (“HWC”) under Section 34 and 38 of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999.
