Based in Gauteng

PURPOSE
To establish a general machinery supervision office and management system for a major client based in Gauteng.
JOB OUTPUTS
- Set up a Management System for the supervision of machinery throughout the portfolio
- Establish register of all machinery
- Review and administer process relating to onboarding of new machinery
- Develop machinery preventative maintenance strategy and procurement strategy
- Establish preventative maintenance schedules
- Establish safe work procedures, i.e., standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Establish training procedures for the safe operation of machinery
- Be designated as the contact person for the Department of Labour inspectors
- Oversight of day-to-day operations of all machinery
- Alignment of machinery deployment with sustainability strategy
- Ensuring that relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALITIES
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Must be a certified engineer, i.e., in possession of a valid Government Certificate of Competency
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar position
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering background
- PrEng or PrTech in relevant electrical or mechanical engineering is advantageous
- Registration as an installation electrician (wireman’s Licence) with DOEL is advantageous
- Excellent understanding of legal requirements (DMR, EMR & GMR)
- Driver’s License
- Excellent knowledge, understanding and application of MS Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, Etc.)
- Previous experience in a management position is advantageous
