PURPOSE
Delivery of conservation services on a number of conservation projects.
JOB OUTPUTS
- Actively participate in the implementation of a variety of conservation projects.
- Utilize appropriate data collection methods and technologies (e.g., GPS, specialized software).
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all project activities and observations.
- Conduct data entry and analysis (e.g., GIS, R).
- Prepare regular progress reports (e.g., weekly/monthly) summarizing project activities, data collected, and any challenges encountered.
- Participate in community outreach and awareness campaigns.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or degree in conservation, ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in field-based conservation work, including data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of basic ecological principles and invasive species management techniques.
- Strong data entry and analysis skills using computer software (e.g., Excel, GIS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in challenging conditions.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with animal handling and identification.
- Experience with monitoring and control techniques.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to wildlife management.
- GIS skills and experience with data visualization software.
- Experience with community outreach and engagement.
